ABOUT THE ARTIST
“Time & time again, nature has been there for me…to ground, nurture, & heal me.”
Renee is a designer, artist, and fine art photographer, deeply influenced by the beauty of the natural world and the California coast she grew up on. She has spent her entire life living by the ocean…and the relaxed coastal influences are reflected in her work. With nature as her muse, Renee follows the light, as she captures her awe of nature on film. Renee has spent the last 25 years as an accomplished award-winning brand & product designer for well known brands in the fashion, tech, lifestyle, and wellness industries…and her design work is featured in many books and magazines. Through her decades in design & photography, she has travelled far and wide both art-directing photoshoots, and shooting photos, herself…And in that, she has compiled a unique perspective and a large body of work. Her multifaceted career has allowed her to explore various mediums and terrain…And her love for travel & traversing “the great unknown” keeps her camera—and her heart—open wide.
Throughout her life, Renee has found herself most “at home” in nature and the ocean.…in her early years she was an avid runner, triathlete, waterskier and snowskier. She developed a passion for surfing, hiking, & paddleboarding…and got her advanced + night diving scuba certifications, along with sailing certification. She has spent decades exploring this beautiful planet…both on land & under the water.…which has developed into a profound respect for all of the precious animals, plants and ecosystems of our earth.
Renee’s deep connection and reverence to nature is echoed within all that she does…she lives her life committed to natural living and is fiercely dedicated to protecting our beautiful planet, at all costs. A % of profits from all art + photography sales goes to environmental causes close to her heart: supporting coral & ecosystem regeneration, elevating wildlife sanctuary preservation, saving the oceans & glaciers, and planting trees to balance our carbon footprint. Renee feels incredibly blessed to be able to explore remote locations, and see nature, untouched. It is her hope that our world continues to heal, and that nature and its precious wildlife can sustain. Her hope is that one day humans can remember their natural roots, and their reliance on manmade and synthetic materials, foods and substances will be replaced by the intelligence of nature.
